On March 5, 2024, M1 Bank proudly supported the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Gaza Hostage Memorial in Creve Coeur, Missouri. This significant event marked the installation of a large blue and white ribbon on the side of our future M1 Bank location on Olive Street. The ribbon symbolized hope and solidarity for those affected by the tragic events of October 7.
Ron’s Story
The ribbon cutting brought together people dedicated to raising awareness about the ongoing struggles faced by hostages and their families. It was an emotional day as we honored the resilience of those impacted by violence. One attendee stood out in particular: Ron Harir, who courageously survived the attack and lost a limb. His presence was a powerful reminder of the human spirit’s strength in the face of adversity.
During the ceremony, we shared Ron’s remarkable story of survival, highlighting the incredible circumstances surrounding his rescue. Ron’s arm was tragically taken by a missile. Miraculously, the heat from the missile actually worked to cauterize the main arteries. He was discovered three hours later and was airlifted out. Ron’s journey is a testament to hope, resilience, and the importance of community support.
The Ribbon
The blue and white ribbon serves as a symbol of our commitment to compassion and awareness. M1 Bank plans to support the installation of similar ribbons across every state in the country, fostering a nationwide movement of solidarity for those affected by violence and conflict.
At M1 Bank, we believe in the power of community and the importance of standing together in times of hardship. Our support for the Gaza Hostage Memorial is just one way we strive to make a positive impact and raise awareness about critical issues facing our world today.
Thank you to everyone who attended the ribbon cutting and for your continued support in this important cause. Together, we can spread hope and compassion, reminding everyone that they are not alone in their struggles.
